The vehicle marketplace AutoTrader has urged owners of 10 models to sell them now in order to get the best price for their car.
Whilst factors such as age, mileage, and general condition can be pivotal in determining how much a used vehicle is worth, used car buyers will often choose certain models, driving up demand.
According to AutoTrader, the fastest-selling used car of 2024 was the Mercedes-Benz GLB Class, with most examples taking just 16 days to find a new owner.
Introduced in 2019, the GLB Class is a large luxury SUV that can be fitted with a variety of powertrains, with the facelifted examples featuring a 48-volt mild hybrid system.
Whilst the GLB’s rivals often have larger boots, many used car buyers like the model’s classic Mercedes-Benz styling and smooth ride quality.
Another model that was particularly popular with used car buyers during 2024 was the Mercedes-Benz A Class, with AutoTrader highlighting that the majority took 16.5 days to sell.
Despite being the entry-level model in the Mercedes-Benz range, competing against family staples like the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus, the A-Class still offers plenty of style and standard equipment.
The latest generation of the A-Class was introduced in 2018 is available with a particularly significant range of engines and a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which can cover a range of 51 miles on EV mode.
However, not all of the fastest-selling used cars of 2024 were luxury models, with the Peugeot 3008 family SUV ranking third on AutoTrader’s list.
During the 12-month period, the majority of 3008s took 18 days on the market, with drivers particularly praising the well-designed appearance and modern interior.
The Peugeot 3008 has been a staple of the French company’s range since 2009, meaning there are used examples to suit all budgets, and is now in its third generation.
