Fire crews have been tackling a blaze at a wind turbine in Cambridgeshire.
Images of the fire at the Coldham wind farm, near March, showed thick black smoke billowing across the skyline.
Only one of the turbines was affected by the fire.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
A ScottishPower spokesperson told ITV: “ScottishPower staff at Coldham wind farm reported a fire in a single wind turbine at 10am this morning.
“Nobody was within the vicinity of the turbine at the time of the incident and there were no injuries.
“Site staff have assisted the fire service and the fire is now extinguished.”
The wind farm’s eight turbines have been de-energised following the incident, and ScottishPower has launched an investigation.
The site, built in 2005, is a joint venture between ScottishPower Renewables and the Co-operative Group.
The Vestas turbines at the wind farm can generate up to 16 megawatts of renewable energy, according to ScottishPower’s website.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said: “You may have seen there is a fire involving a wind turbine near Coldham. We have firefighters at the scene working hard to extinguish the fire.
“If you see the flames on your travels, please be assured that we are aware of the fire and have it under control.
“Crews from March and Stanground were called at around 10am to a fire involving a wind turbine on March Road in Coldham.
“They are currently working with onsite staff to contain the fire and ensure the area is safe.”
