New Evercade pre-orders now open – Buy now or risk missing out

If you own one or all of Evercade’s retro gaming devices, then you’ll be pleased to hear that two new cartridges are launching in March.

This includes another really exciting 32-bit release, as the Broken Sword Collection joins the Evercade line-up. That’s on top of the Indie Heroes Collection Volume 4, which contains another 11 modern retro gaming releases.

The new cartridges have a March 10 release date, although fans can pre-order the games from today.

With recent releases like Toaplan Arcade Collection 3, Toaplan 4 and Data East Arcade 2 already sold out, it might be worth ordering now to avoid missing out.

Containing the first two and best games in the series, the Broken Sword Collection is available from the Funstock website for £24.99.

Featuring retro indie games like Block‘em Sock‘em and Jane Austen’s 8-bit Adventure, Indie Heroes Collection 4 is also available from the Funstock website, only this time for £19.99.

Both cartridges have a March 10 release date. Expect retailers like Argos and Amazon to stock them at launch, although based on recent releases, they may not stick around for long.

It’s also worth pointing out that as a point and click adventure, Broken Sword probably isn’t best played on the recently released Capcom Bartop arcade machines.

The original Broken Sword begins in Paris, as American tourist George Stobbart gets sucked into a global conspiracy involving The Templars.

“Experience the nostalgia of Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars and Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror with the Evercade consoles,” reads the official description.

“Explore the point-and-click adventures of the fearless George Stobbart and the street-wise Nico Collard as they journey through their perilous, exciting quests!”

Indie Heroes 4 features games like the “dig-and-bomb ’em up action of Murtop, the bouncy platforming of Flea!2, Batty Zabella’s sassy point-and-click adventure and many more”.
