Royal fans have ripped into Kim Kardashian, branding her latest fashion attire “vulgar.” The reality star, 44, donned Princess Diana’s iconic cross at the 2024 LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday in Los Angeles.
The famous TV favourite wowed in a floor-length plunging white gown that showcased her cleavage in the braless attire. Kim paired her outfit with a white coat which she wrapped around her arms.
The mum-of-four accessorised her look with a choker bracelet and added the antique amethyst necklace, worn by the late royal princess at a charity event in 1987, among other jewellery pieces.
Kim pulled her signature dark locks behind her ears and kept her makeup light with a smokey eye and a nude lip.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashian star purchased the Attallah Cross at a Sotheby’s auction for just under $200,000 in 2023, as she wore it for the first time over the weekend.
Critics took to social media and ripped into the reality star, with some branding her fashion choice “vulgar”.
“She turned it into something vulgar,” a user wrote on X.
Another penned: “She had the audacity to put it on with this dress. Purely tone deaf.”
A third fumed: “Can I just say I find Kim Kardashian wearing Princess Diana’s cross a revolting flaunt of wealth, power, and ignorance. There is no way this is what Diana would have wanted. Shame on @KimKardashian!”
“At a public event, Kim Kardashian wore Princess Diana’s iconic cross necklace, a piece she purchased at auction in 2023 for nearly $200,000, pairing it with her provocative outfit,” another vented.
Another mused: “I wonder how Diana would feel about it.”
