A collision on the M1 has sparked severe delays “in excess of 90 minutes” and approximately seven miles of congestion on Tuesday morning, National Highways said.
The incident happened between J20 (Lutterworth) and J21 (near Leicester) and prompted the closure of lanes two and three.
Leicestershire Police, Fire and Ambulance services were called to the scene, with National Highways traffic officers assisting with traffic management.
Motorists are urged to allow extra journey time, plan ahead and consider re-routing if not delaying their journey entirely.
