The next wave of PS Plus Extra and Premium games are about to be unveiled by Sony.
The Extra games consist of around a dozen PS4 and PS5 games, while Premium customers will be treated to a selection of PSVR 2 titles and old-school classics.
After some high-profile and critically-acclaimed releases for PlayStation Plus Essentials, fans will be hoping for something similar from the Extra and Premium titles.
Judging by the monthly predictions thread over on Reddit, fans think 2025 is going to start with a bang.
One game with a lot of votes is Hogwarts Legacy, which is one of the best-selling releases of the decade.
However, with sales starting to slow down, now feels like a good time for Hogwarts Legacy to finally make an appearance on PS Plus Extra.
The Harry Potter video game spinoff sees players attend classes and explore the famous wizarding school, all the while attempting to foil an ancient plot. It’s probably the best Harry Potter game of all time, and would make an excellent addition to the PS Plus library.
Other games with lots of votes include Resident Evil 4 Remake, Final Fantasy 16 and Star Wars Jedi Survivor.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor and Resident Evil 4 Remake feel long overdue for PS Plus, so don’t be surprised if we finally get a release in January.
Final Fantasy 16, on the other hand, has been around long enough that a PS Plus Extra release is starting to feel realistic.
God of War Ragnarok certainly feels like a contender for PS Plus Extra, especially if Sony wants to start 2025 with a bang.
Other popular picks include Atomic Heart, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown and The Crew Motorfest.
With a new Like a Dragon game launching next month, now could be a good time for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased his Name to make an appearance.
First-person shooter Robocop could realistically join the line-up, alongside Sonic Superstars, Mafia Trilogy and EA FC 25.
It may be too soon for Still Wakes the Deep, although we’re starting to see it on the predictions list more often.
Some of the more unrealistic choices include Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2 and the remastered Red Dead Redemption.
