Samsung confirms stunning new way to watch TV that has to be seen to be believed

It might be time to finally ditch your 4K TV and switch over to a new way of watching TV. Samsung has just shown off its all-new 8K Premier projector at the CES tech show in Las Vegas, and having seen it in the flesh, it’s definitely one to watch out for. Express.co.uk has been in ‘Sin City’ checking out all of the latest gadgets and gizmos and Samsung’s new Premier projector was one of the highlights. In fact, it’s one of the most exciting pieces of TV technology we’ve seen in a while.

This short-throw machine can beam a pin-sharp image onto any wall with a resolution that’s so impressive you won’t believe it’s come from a home projector. It’s so good, Samsung is boasting that it’s the first 8K projector to receive an 8K Association (8KA) certification.

With the lights down low, this projector really shines but we were also left impressed by its ability to work even when the conference hall lights were shining bright. That’s all thanks to it producing 4,500 ISO Lumens of brightness.

For those times when you want the full cinema experience, it can push the overall image size up to a whopping 150 inches, and thanks to its ultra-short throw (UST) technology, it doesn’t need to be placed in the middle of the room.

There are some nice bonus features, including an in-built speaker that belts out decent sound. It’s also wireless, thanks to the introduction of Samsung’s One Connect box. This accessory can be popped into a cupboard with it then beaming content from set-top boxes and consoles directly to the projector. That means your living space won’t be cluttered with cables.

This really is a seriously impressive device that will offer a truly stunning way to watch content on a giant screen.

The only issue might be the price. Samsung won’t say how much it will cost but don’t expect it to be cheap.

We’ll bring you full release dates and pricing when we hear more.

“The Premiere 8K receiving the industry’s first 8KA certification is a major milestone as it officially demonstrates the new potential of projector technology.” said Taeyoung Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.

“We are committed to expanding the 8K ecosystem by continuously and extensively integrating new technologies.”
