A teenage girl was reportedly gang raped in a toilet cubicle at a popular waterpark. Two men have pleaded guilty to one charge of rape connected with the attack, while a third remains on trial. The alleged attack took place in March 2022 when the victim was just 16-years-old.
A court heard how the victim met Raden Zulhusni Zulkifri, who is now aged 28 and faces charges of sexual assault by penetration and criminal trespass, and Muhammad Al’Amin bin Selamat, who is now aged 25 and was sentenced to 10 years and six months behind bars, at Admiralty Park, a waterpark in Singapore. The group drank alcohol before the teenager started to feel unwell and was taken to a toilet by Muhammad Isnalli David, who is now aged 24 and was sentenced to 12 years and six months imprisonment.
As reported by local news site Mothership, Isnalli dragged the victim into a cubicle before locking the door and raping her. Around 10 minutes later, at roughly 9.55pm, Raden and Al’Amin are alleged to have entered the cubicle and filmed a 52-second video of Isnalli raping the victim for a second time.
The prosecution said CCTV footage showed Raden entering and leaving the toilet multiple times. It’s reported he sexually assaulted the victim before leaving with Al’Amin. Isnalli then raped the victim again before leaving the toilet at around 10.17pm.
Defending, Al’Amin claimed that he and Raden had gone into the female toilet to help the victim. He also said Raden did not go inside the cubicle because he did not want to join the sexual intercourse.
The prosecutor said: “You just told us that you and Raden were going inside to help the victim. How did going in to help the victim become an invitation for Raden to join the sexual intercourse?”
The prosecution added that Raden and Al’Amin spoke over the phone on March 28 – the day after the incident. They then reported the attack to police, claiming to have tried to save the victim from Isnalli.
In court, the prosecutor added: “You and Raden did this to deny any sexual involvement with the complainant to the police? And in doing so, Isnalli will take the responsibility for both of you; do you agree?”
The court was adjourned on Wednesday (October 28) and Raden was remanded in custody. He faces up to 20 years behind bars if convicted.
