As an Indiana mother continues to search for answers in her daughter’s unsolved murder, she says it has been years without answers from Indianapolis prosecutors.

For Angie Barlow’s mother, Christina Kramer, the 10-year mark of her daughter’s disappearance brings questions about both her death and the status of the ongoing investigation.

Angie Barlow, 23, disappeared on Oct. 26, 2016, after texting her roommate the address of a private dancing gig at the Landmark Apartment and Townhomes in Indianapolis.

“About to work this private party in case I go missing LOL,” the text message read, Kramer told Fox News Digital.

Nearly eight months later, searchers found Barlow’s remains in a backyard of a residence off Harcourt in Indianapolis, WISH-TV reported. Kramer said her daughter had been fatally shot.

Kramer added that she is desperate for answers after a special prosecutor assigned to the case left the office. She estimated it had been around two years since she has heard from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

“I had been sending a bunch of emails for I don’t even know how long to absolutely nobody,” Kramer told Fox News Digital, adding that she no longer has a point of contact with the prosecutor’s office.

Kramer said she has also tried repeatedly to reach Marion County Prosecuting Attorney Ryan Mears but has not received a response.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office did not respond to multiple requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

Surveillance footage and GPS tracker

Kramer said surveillance footage from the apartment complex showed two vehicles leaving at around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 27, 2016. She identified one vehicle as Barlow’s blue Pontiac G6.

A black sedan followed closely behind, believed to have belonged to a female acquaintance who worked with Barlow at Club Rio in Indianapolis, Kramer said. The footage did not allow investigators to identify the drivers or occupants because of the vehicles’ tinted windows, WISH-TV reported.

Kramer said days went by without answers. She then contacted the dealership where Barlow purchased the vehicle and used its GPS tracker to help locate it around eight miles from the apartment complex.

While Barlow normally kept her car meticulously clean, Kramer said the recovered vehicle had been completely trashed inside and looked as though it had been driven under a fence.

“That car had been on some kind of journey,” Kramer added.

Alleged taunts

Kramer said months later, she received a phone call from the acquaintance who had been at the private party with her boyfriend. Kramer said that Barlow knew the pair, but they were not friends.

“She needed some quick cash, and this was the way to do it,” Kramer said, adding that she would have never accepted the gig had she known who was there.

During the Jan. 2017 call, Kramer recalled asking the female acquaintance what she and Barlow had discussed at the party.

“Oh, you want to know what her last words were,” Kramer recalled the woman saying.

Kramer said the remark stayed with her because she interpreted it as a taunt. The woman denied making the call and having that conversation, according to what Kramer told Fox News Digital.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said that no criminal charges have been filed in Barlow’s death.

IMPD told Fox News Digital that the investigation remains open with Detective Jose Torres as the lead investigator but declined to comment further.

Despite standing less than 5 feet tall, Barlow excelled as a softball catcher, her mother said. She also competed in basketball, shot put, volleyball and bowling.

“She was a very gifted athlete. There was not a sport that she did not do,” Kramer said. “Whenever I talk about her, especially the good things, it just, it makes you happy.”

She was the eldest of four sisters, whom she remained close to after she left the family’s Muncie home.

Kramer said Barlow’s death continues to affect the family, particularly her youngest daughter, who was 4 when Barlow disappeared.

The youngest child turned to violent video games to learn “how to escape the bad people,” Kramer said.

Kramer said she will continue pressing authorities to solve her daughter’s murder.

“When you remain silent, you’re a victim. When you have a voice, you’re a survivor, and I refuse to be a victim of my circumstances,” Kramer said.

“My daughter was the victim. She can’t speak for herself. I’m her survivor. I’m her voice, and I speak for her.”

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department urges anyone with information to contact its homicide office at 317-327-3475.

Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477), where callers can remain anonymous.
