A soccer coach has gone viral over his refusal to look at his glamorous interviewer.
David Oulehla, coach of the Czech team FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem, spoke to a reporter following his team’s defeat to SFC Opava.
Video showed him listening in intently to questions posed by presenter Sabina Jaksova. And it quickly garnered attention online as fans noticed his apparent refusal to look at her.
Oushehla instead stared dead ahead or off to the side, with a concerned look etched across his face.
A video posted to the club’s TikTok page, which has under 30,000 followers, quickly gathered 1.8 million views.
Fans poked fun at the coach and his high levels of concentration.
“Fighting for his life,” joked TikTok user Kristoff Markson.
“Many years of meditation,” wrote @Ononos.
“His level of self-control is biblical,” another user added.
Jaksova, who is not the only glamorous reporter employed by Viagem, revealed she was approached directly for a presenter job by the Czech team.
“The club’s management contacted me directly and made me the offer. I admit that I was happy and surprised at the same time,” she said following her appointment.
“I thought about it for a while, but finally said: ‘Why not? I’ll try.’ However, I had no experience, so I learned everything along the way.”
The interview is reminiscent of another incident involving a soccer coach that went viral last year.
Shakhtar Donetsk boss Arda Turan awkwardly avoided eye contact as he was being interviewed by female reporter Daria Savina.
He fidgeted throughout the two-minute interview and put his hands in his pockets.
In a further clip to circulate online, Turan was seen putting his arm around a female supporter while posing for a picture, without actually making any contact.
Turan married his wife Aslihan Dogan in a ceremony attended by Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
A reporter attempted to question Aslihan outside the venue, causing Turan to interject.
“Be respectful, or I will crush your head and eyes!” he said. “You’re talking to my wife.”
