A woman jumped off a luxury apartment building in downtown Los Angeles Saturday morning, officials confirmed.
The Los Angeles Fire Department told The Post they received a report of a jumper at 8:51 a.m. in the area of 1200 S Grand Ave. and responded to the scene along with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officials went on the roof to possibly coax the woman out of jumping, but they were apparently unsuccessful.
The adult woman jumped from the building and was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A fire official said she leapt from the 7th floor of the building, but that detail was unconfirmed.
Police declined to elaborate on the incident further, citing department policy on suicides. An employee at the Awesome Coffee shop near the scene told The Post a woman had jumped from a building there.
Streets in the area were closed as officials investigated. The woman’s identity is unknown, but is expected to be released by the LA County Medical Examiner at some point.
The suicide happened just a few blocks east of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
