A crazed motorist led Missouri police on a high-speed chase before jumping from his moving car and leaping headfirst off a bridge and into a river, according to wild dashcam footage.

Gavin Thor Lundgren was allegedly driving his Chevy Malibu 75 mph in a 45 mph zone last Saturday when deputies with the Stone County Sheriff’s Office turned on their emergency lights to pull him over.

Lundgren then drove into a parking lot and looped around a building before getting back onto the road and speeding away from officers, according to court documents.

When the pursuit took the madcap and police over a bridge, Lundgren ditched the car — which was reportedly still in drive — and dove headfirst off a bridge into water below, according to police dashcam footage obtained by KTLA.

“Contact water patrol, he jumped over the bridge,” a deputy could be heard saying in the video.

Four officers then walk onto the bridge — two of them peeking over the side and the others going to Lundgren’s car that seemed to sputter to a stop shortly after he jumped out.

Nobody else was inside the Chevy, but they spotted reportedly Lundgren’s driver’s license on the front passenger seat.

Local firefighters joined deputies on a search boat to scour the water.

Officers eventually tracked Lundgren down on a nearby shoreline, but he refused to go quietly.

During a wild tussle on the ground, Lundgren headbutted officers, leaving three deputies with scrapes, lacerations, and facial injuries before he was finally restrained, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

He is charged with aggravated fleeing a stop and third-degree assault alongside two accounts of misdemeanor fourth-degree assault.
