The Falcons are keeping one of their star playmakers in the fold for a while.
And giving him quite the payday.
Wide receiver Drake London has agreed to a four-year, $141 million extension with the chance to make up to $150 million, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
London, who becomes the third-highest paid receiver in the NFL based on average annual value, will make $100 million in guaranteed money, the insider added.
London, the eighth overall pick in the 2021 draft, has been a consistent force for the Falcons offense. The USC product has recorded at least 866 receiving yards in each of his four seasons in the NFL but had a breakout campaign in 2024 when he hauled in career highs in receptions (100), receiving yards (1,271) and touchdowns (nine).
He missed some time last year with a PCL sprain and hip injury, but when he did play, London put up 919 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in just 12 contests.
Pro Football Focus gave him high marks for last year, grading him fifth out of 81 receivers with an 88 grade.
As Schefter notes, running back Bijan Robinson and tight end Kyle Pitts could be the next players who could receive extension offers from Atlanta.
At the very least, keeping London for the long term gives the Falcons some needed consistency at a time when there are a few changes on the way.
The team fired head coach Raheem Morris and brought in former Browns coach Kevin Stefanski to take the role. Atlanta also brought in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who was cut by the Dolphins with an NFL record $99 million dead cap hit, to compete with Michael Penix Jr.
