The man closest to Ronda Rousey was supporting her in what was her first fight in nearly 10 years — and her last ever.

Watching for what was only 17 seconds was her husband and former MMA fighter Travis Browne. In victory, Rousey shared a kiss with Browne in the ring.

Rousey quickly defeated Gina Carano with her signature armbar on Saturday night in Netflix’s debut MMA event at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif.

When asked if there was any part of her that wanted the fight to last longer, Rousey said, “Hell no.”

“My husband and my kids are watching me. I don’t want to put them through anything more than I have to,” she continued.

Rousey shares two children with her husband, who she married in 2017.

The couple welcomed their first daughter La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō, in 2021 while their second daughter, Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha, was born in 2025. Browne also shares two sons, Kaleo and Keawe, from a previous marriage.

Rousey revealed that she isn’t done growing her family with Browne while confirming her career is over on Saturday.

“There’s no way I could’ve ended it better than this. I wanna have some more babies and I’ve gotta get cooking,” she said.

In 2023, Rousey told People motherhood has made her “so much happier.”

Following the opening bell, Rousey quickly got to work, charging and tackling Carano.

She immediately moved into her signature finishing move and the fight was soon over.

“I was hoping to come out as unscathed as possible,” Rousey said. “I didn’t really want to hurt her. Luckily it was beautiful martial arts, that’s what I think that was. It was art.”

Rousey has won eight fights in less than a minute during her MMA career.

She made $2.2 million for the short fight, according to the California State Athletic Commission.
