Manhattan DA’s office worker accused of groping woman on rush-hour NYC subway

A 28-year-old Manhattan District Attorney’s Office employee was arrested for allegedly groping a woman on board a rush-hour train passing through Queens Tuesday, authorities said. 

Tauhid Dewan, a Community Associate for the DA’s office, allegedly made “inappropriate contact” with the 40-year-old victim’s private area around 5 p.m. on a No. 7 train at Junction Blvd and Roosevelt Avenue, police said. 

He was arrested minutes later by cops on the platform and charged with sexual abuse and harassment, authorities said.

Dewan, who has no prior arrests, is a stranger to the victim, law enforcement sources said. 

His arraignment in Queens Criminal Court was pending Wednesday. 

Dewan has worked for the DA’s office since 2022. He has since been suspended, according to a spokeswoman.
