Josh Allen had a bizarre request after foot surgery

Josh Allen wanted a souvenir.

The Bills quarterback went under the knife in January to remove a piece of bone from his right foot, having suffered the injury following a hit from Browns star Myles Garrett in December.

And while Allen told reporters Monday that he was feeling good, he was a little disappointed that he couldn’t leave his surgery with a keepsake.

“A little piece of bone just kind of broke off and was floating there. So they just went in, took it out, kind of like a small rock,” Allen said.

“… Our head trainer, Nate Breske, was there, and apparently, they wrapped it up and threw it away as quickly as they could. And I really wanted it. It may be floating out there, who knows. Black market or something.”

As for the injury itself, Allen said it was a re-aggravation of an issue he wasn’t aware of at the time.

However, he said Monday that his foot “feels really good right now” and that he didn’t feel as though he had any limitations.

Allen did not miss any games following his foot injury in Week 16, but Buffalo’s season ended in the Divisional Round against Denver as the star passer committed four turnovers in the heartbreaking overtime loss.

The four-time Pro Bowler and 2024 MVP is still looking for that elusive first Super Bowl as he enters his ninth season in the NFL.

The Bills fired head coach Sean McDermott after the season and replaced him with offensive coordinator Joe Brady.
