Christmas at Sandringham may be a little quieter this year as Princess Eugenie and Beatrice are set to miss out on the Royal Family’s Christmas celebration.
Last year the sisters and their respective husbands put on a united display and attended the traditional Royal walkabout following the Christmas Day service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.
However, this year Beatrice and Eugenie will be notably absent and are believed to be spending the festive period with their in-laws for the first time since their marriages, a source tells Hello magazine.
Beatrice married property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020 with the couple expecting their second child in early spring 2025.
Wolfie stepped out in public alongside his doting father and stepmother at Sandringham in December 2022.
Princess Eugenie tied-the-knot with Jack Brooksbank in 2018 and since then the couple have become regulars on the royal social scene, attending events with the rest of the Royal Family.
The couple welcomed their first son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, on February 9, 2021.
In January 2023, Eugenie and Jack announced that they were expecting a second child, and in June of the same year, they debuted their new son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank.
Last year King Charles invited Sarah Ferguson, affectionately known as ‘Fergie’, to the royals’ Christmas Day walkabout because of his fondness for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, an expert said.
It was the first time in 30 years the Duchess of York joined the Windsors for the annual event.
Prince Andrew also made the walk from Sandringham to church with the other royals in 2022 and 2023.
However, this year will look a lot different as both Prince Andrew and Fergie have reportedly pulled out of the Royal Family’s Christmas celebration in Sandringham.
This news comes after it was alleged that Andrew had “invited” a Chinese spy into Buckingham Palace on two occasions, as well as St James’s Palace and Windsor Castle.
Amid the scandal, the King and Queen had reportedly made clear privately that it would be a “blessing” if Sarah were to persuade her ex-husband to “see sense” and tactfully opt out of public gatherings over the next few weeks.
It is believed the pair will instead celebrate the Christmas holiday at their multi-million-pound property Royal Lodge in Windsor.
