A young pregnant woman and her boyfriend were tragically killed by a suspected DUI driver who crashed into their car while fleeing police in Pomona.

Jennifer Loera Zarco, 25, and her boyfriend, Marc Trejo, 26, died in the horror wreck on Wednesday after a man suspected in a domestic violence incident struck a patrol car and then crashed into the couple’s car as police pursued.

Zarco was expecting to give birth on April 20.

“We just had her baby shower and she was so happy and excited,” Zarco’s sister, Amber Torres, told KTLA.

Another relative said that Trejo was “so excited” to become a father and “was hoping to [raise] a soccer player.”

The family launched a GoFundMe campaign that said the couple had already named their unborn child Elliot.

“Jenni and Mark were filled with so much love for the people around them and even more for each other,” it read.

Another of Zarco’s sisters, Andrea Solorio, added that she would have made a great mom.

“I just can’t imagine what she was feeling or going through,” Solorio told KTLA. “I think she definitely would’ve done a good job [as a mother] and it’s sad that we won’t get to see that. We didn’t even get to meet the baby. But I know she definitely would’ve been the best mom that she could be.”

The suspect, Marshall Judson, 31, was charged with suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, driving under the influence, driving without a valid license, felony evasion and firearm-related charges. He had a gun and firearm components inside his vehicle, officials told KTLA.
