Maxx Crosby isn’t looking in the rearview after a wild 24 hours.
On the heels of the Ravens’ shock trade reversal for the star Raiders pass rusher, Crosby — just two months removed from meniscus surgery — is focused on “rehab & getting back,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday morning.
The 28-year-old Crosby “is headed back into the building in Las Vegas, ready to resume his training and rehab program,” according to Rapoport, with a source telling the NFL insider that Crosby “looks great and feels great.”
It’s been a whirlwind series of events for the five-time Pro Bowler, who was initially dealt to Baltimore on Friday for two first-round picks.
The Ravens called off the deal Tuesday night in a seismic shift, with The Athletic reporting Crosby failed a physical.
Crosby’s agent, CJ LaBoy, expanded on his client’s recovery Tuesday in a post on X, stating: “Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule according to his surgeon Dr Neal El Attrache. Maxx remains on track to return during the offseason program & will undoubtedly return as the dominant game wrecker he has been these past 7 seasons.”
However, the question is which team Crosby will be the “game wrecker” for.
Rapoport added Wednesday that teams have since reached out to Las Vegas “looking for a good deal,” as The Athletic’s Dianna Russini suggested inquiring clubs “believe the Raiders aren’t going to come off their asking price of two first-round picks at this time.”
When Crosby does reach the field, it’s believed a “monster” will be unleashed.
“Maxx is going to be a monster this year as an F you to Baltimore,” a source told The Athletic.
A fourth-round pick out of Eastern Michigan in 2019, Crosby has played his entire career in silver and black, tallying 69.5 sacks across seven seasons.
He signed a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension with the Raiders last March.
As for the Ravens, they quickly pivoted off Crosby and agreed to a four-year, $112 million pact with former Bengals star Trey Hendrickson.
