Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic has split from longtime fiancée Anamaria Goltes and is now locked in a custody fight over their two daughters, the NBA phenom confirmed Tuesday.
“I love my daughters more than anything,” Doncic said in a statement to ESPN. “I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement.”
The bombshell breakup comes as Goltes — a model and influencer — filed a petition in California seeking child support and attorney fees, according to a report from TMZ.
Sources close to the situation told ESPN that Doncic was blindsided by the filing — and that the legal move was made in California even though one of their daughters spent only three months in the state and the other has never been there.
Despite the court clash, insiders insist Doncic, who signed a three-year, $165 million contract extension with the Lakers in August, has never held back financially when it comes to his kids, saying he pays for his daughters’ expenses “without limitation.”
The split marks a stunning turn for a couple whose romance stretches back years.
Doncic and Goltes first met and began dating in 2016. The NBA star popped the question in July 2023.

Their first daughter, Gabriela was born November 2023 in the United States while Doncic was still playing for the Dallas Mavericks.
Their second daughter, Olivia, was born last December in Slovenia — but the celebration reportedly spiraled into chaos.
Doncic had traveled overseas during the season and missed games against the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics to be there for the birth.
But sources say tensions flared when Doncic wanted to bring Gabriela back to the U.S. as he returned to join the Lakers for a game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Goltes allegedly called police during the dispute at a maternity hospital in Slovenia.

According to the police report reviewed by ESPN, officers found no criminal wrongdoing by Doncic. He reportedly left the hospital peacefully and flex back to the U.S. later that day.
The fallout has been icy ever since — Doncic hasn’t seen Goltes or his daughters since that trips, sources said.
Adding to the speculation, Goltes recently wiped all photos of Doncic from her Instagram.
Doncic has since filed for an interim injunction in Slovenian court seeking immediate contact with his daughters, according to sources.
According to her filing, Goltes has been living in Slovenia with the kids since May 5, 2025. She wrote they had all previously lived together in Los Angeles from February 7, 2025 to May 4, 2025, and in Dallas from Sept. 26, 2024 to Feb. 6, 2025 prior to that.
Since arriving in Los Angeles for training camp in September, Doncic has seen them for just two days.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old continues to dominate the hardwood. In his first full season with the Lakers, the 6-foot-8 guard is averaging a league-leading 32.5 points with 8.4 assists and 7.8 rebounds.
