A suspect who allegedly slugged a Jewish man and ripped off his yarmulke was arrested Thursday and now faces multiple hate crime charges, cops said.
Neil Hurlock, 20, was tracked through video and picked up at his Flatlands home Thursday night in connection to the attack on a 54-year-old man on board a southbound N train at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station, police and sources said.
He was charged with robbery, assault and petit larceny – all as hate crimes – in addition to aggravated harassment and criminal possession of stolen property, authorities said.
The victim was riding the train around 10:45 a.m. Monday when the masked stranger punched him repeatedly while hurling the vitriol, police said.
Hurlock then allegedly grabbed the victim’s religious headwear before fleeing the scene, authorities said.
The victim was taken to SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
Hurlock’s arraignment was pending Friday evening.
He was last arrested in August for allegedly hurling a brick through the window of a doctor’s office on Flatlands Avenue in Canarsie, causing a 69-year-old woman and two men, 56 and 41, to be struck by broken glass, cops said.
He was charged by police with misdemeanor assault, but the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office confirmed Friday that the case has since been sealed.
