Danica Patrick is opening up about her next chapter.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the former NASCAR star addressed her departure from Sky Sports as an F1 analyst, expressing gratitude “for the opportunity and experience I was given!!”

“From my first @skysportsf1 race in Austin to my last 5 years later… I had such a blast! The sky team was so much fun (thank you all❤️), I saw so many amazing new race tracks and cities, and got to be part of a huge boom in F1!” the 43-year-old Patrick began.

”I called after the last race in 2025 and said it was time for me to move on and I was so grateful for the opportunity and experience I was given!”

Word of Patrick’s exit from the network made waves on Wednesday after she was noticeably absent from the network’s broadcast lineup for the 2026 season.

Patrick, who retired from motorsports in 2018, revealed Thursday how she plans to take in the upcoming season.

“Now due to my deep exposure to F1, I will be glued to my tv for the season starting this weekend, like every other fan,” she concluded her post.

Patrick, who joined Sky Sports in 2021, had been at the center of headlines in recent months, between an on-air analysis that baffled colleagues and her public criticism of Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl 2026 halftime performer.

The former racer, who has backed President Donald Trump, recently roasted Canada with a “51st state” jab after America’s gold-medal win in men’s hockey at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The 2026 F1 season gets underway this weekend with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
