49ers QB Brock Purdy chooses Five Guys over In-N-Out

It’s one of the most highly-contested debates in American society.

East vs. West. East Coast vs. West Coast.

Whether it’s food, culture, entertainment or arts, the battle for supremacy is something all Americans weigh in on.

And now 49ers star quarterback Brock Purdy is adding his thoughts — and people from the west coast aren’t going to be thrilled.

“I would say that Five Guys is better than In-N-Out.”

That’s right, the guy who recently signed a 5-year, $265 million contract to become one of the Bay Area’s sports icons told Sports Illustrated that he’s is siding with the east coast joint from Arlington County, Virginia.

This first came to light last year when tight end George Kittle outed Purdy, saying, “Brock Purdy told me one time that Five Guys is better than In-N-Out.”

When given a chance to clarify — or better yet, change — his answer, Purdy didn’t hesitate.

“I’m from Arizona, there’s a bunch of In-N-Outs so I do like it,” he said with a smile. “But Five Guys is fresh, it’s authentic. The fries are a lot better I think, and In-N-Out the fires are too small.”

So anyways, Five Guys shoutout.”

Purdy is widely cherished amongst fans in the Bay Area.

From being Mr. Irrelevant after taken with the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft to one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league, his story of perseverance and grit has made him beloved by the 49ers fanbase.

But that might be changing.

This type of blasphemy is sure to upset some of the San Francisco faithful, but as long as Purdy can continue to be great and lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl, all will be forgiven.

Even for a hot take that bad.
