This one’s for you, Johnny Hockey.
The United States honored late Team USA and NHL star Johnny Gaudreau after defeating Canada in Sunday’s gold medal game at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Draped in the Stars and Stripes, American teammates paraded Gaudreau’s No. 13 jersey around the ice in a heartwarming tribute after a thrilling 2-1 overtime triumph.
They then brought Gaudreau’s daughter, Noa, and oldest son, Johnny, onto the ice for the team photo.
Johnny Jr. was celebrating his second birthday on Sunday.
Team USA had their fallen teammate’s sweater hanging in the locker room as a source of inspiration ahead of every game they played during their Olympic run, which resulted in their first gold medal since the legendary “Miracle on Ice” team went all the way in 1980.
Gaudreau and his younger brother, Matthew, were killed by a drunk driver while riding bikes in August 2024.
