With only a few weeks remaining in college basketball’s regular season, the betting market has a firm grasp of each team’s power rating.
That makes it that much more difficult to find betting value, as opposed to earlier in the season with a less mature market. However, the opportunities do exist.
We seem to have that with Oregon hosting Minnesota on Tuesday as a 1.5-point favorite with a total of 134.5 points.
Minnesota vs. Oregon odds, prediction
The Ducks have been a giant disappointment this season, with a 2-12 Big Ten mark. Injuries have played a role, but this was headed for a disappointing season even at full strength.
However, Oregon just got its best player, Nate Bittle, back from injury and is coming off a convincing win over Penn State. Jackson Shelstad remains out, but the Ducks have shown some signs of life.

The Gophers are a tough team to handicap. They are well coached by Niko Medved and recently beat a ranked Michigan State squad. However, that’s their lone win in a 1-9 stretch that included a loss at Washington on Saturday.
Betting on College Basketball?
Minnesota is in the midst of a tricky travel stretch and just isn’t nearly as reliable on the road as at home. Oregon has been the inferior team all season but I believe it is better at home in this particular matchup.
I have a 97-82-2 record against the spread in this Post sports section. My next play is Oregon to cover -1.5 points against Minnesota.
The PLAY: Oregon -1.5 (-115, bet365)
