Small plane crashes in Ventura County, injuring two

A small plane crashed in Ventura County on Sunday night, leaving both people onboard in critical condition, authorities said.

The single-engine aircraft went down in a drainage canal in the city of Camarillo shortly after 6 p.m., the Ventura County Fire Department announced on X.

Firefighters pulled two people from the plane and they were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, according to VCFD.

The aircraft did not strike any homes or other structures in the crash.

A shocking photo shared by the county fire department shows the doomed plane came to a rest upside down.

“Firefighters are remaining on scene to address and mitigate any remaining hazards,” VCFD said.

The Federal Aviation Administration was notified of the crash, the fire department said.
