A high school anti-ICE protest took a horrifying turn after students claimed a man in a truck threatened to “shoot them in the face” Tuesday.
“There was a young man in a red sweatshirt who is a senior at Saugus, and the gentleman in the car had threatened to shoot him in the face,” Rebecca Hindman, who stopped at a nearby light and approached the students when she saw the chaos, told FOX 11.
The older man had silver hair and drove a black truck, according to the video.
“He was saying something, and my friend was just like, ‘Do you want to have a political argument about this?’ and he was like, ‘I’ll shoot you in the face,’” one student told The Signal.
The incident happed at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 10, deputies responded to a third-party call reporting an armed adult male in the 23100 block of Saugas near Saugas High School, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to The Post.
“I’m like, what are you doing? Why are you doing this? You shouldn’t be threatening children — that’s not OK,” Hindman, who runs a social media group called “Rise Up SVC,” told the local affiliate. “He just was adamant and seemed to be getting a kick out of threatening children, that he threatened a Hispanic child with potential death,”
Deputies said they arrived to find students “exercising their First Amendment right” at the local park and could not locate a firearm.
The male suspect was not located and no one was injured, according to the sheriff’s office.
As of Thursday afternoon, authorities were still interviewing additional witnesses and the investigation remains active.
The Santa Clarita high school is the same campus where a teenage gunman shot and killed two students in November 2019 before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
