NFL running back Ameer Abdullah expressed astonishment at the state of San Francisco during a visit the city ahead of this Sunday’s Super Bowl in nearby Santa Clara.
“The city is surprisingly kinda dead,” the Indianapolis Colts player told journalist Erica Sandberg during a brief on-street interview.
“The city isn’t as vibrant as I thought it would,” the 11-year NFL veteran added, admitting that he hasn’t spent much time in the Bay Area. “I’m a little bit underwhelmed, if I have to be honest.
When asked, Abdullah did credit San Fran for being “very safe, very friendly,” adding that “it gives me a little bit of a feel of New York.”
