Accused healthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione railed about “double jeopardy” in a courtroom outburst Friday after a judge set a June 8 trial date in his headline-grabbing case.
The 27-year-old Ivy League grad was left fuming after Manhattan state Judge Gregory Carro set the early trial date — leapfrogging a separate October trial date set by the feds in the Southern District of New York.
“It’s the same trial twice. One plus one equals two. This is double jeopardy by any common sense!” Mangione shouted toward reporters as court officers led him from the room.
Mangione’s lawyer claimed in court that they wouldn’t be ready for trial in June, prompting a scathing reply from the judge.
“Be ready,” Carro seethed from the bench.
Mangione has pleaded not guilty to the cold-blooded December 2024 murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on a Midtown sidewalk.
