LeBron James is headed back to the NBA All-Star Game.
The Lakers’ superstar was named to his 22nd All-Star Game, which extends his NBA record, after he was announced as a Western Conference reserve ahead of Sunday’s game between the Knicks and Lakers at Madison Square Garden, airing on NBC.
James had been one of seven reserve players selected by Western Conference coaches and he has now been named to three more All-Star teams than legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
There had been some thought that James would not be named an All-Star this season, as he finished ninth in the West in the fan voting. But in 30 games this season, James has averaged 21.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
