Macaulay Culkin has been pictured for the first time since the shocking loss of his “Home Alone” mom, Catherine O’Hara, who died on Friday.
The 45-year-old former child star was spotted looking subdued as he left a meeting at the UTA Talent Agency in Beverly Hills, Calif., several hours after O’Hara’s death was announced.
Culkin penned a heartwarming tribute to his on-screen mother, with whom he remained close well into adulthood, on Instagram earlier Friday.
“Mama. I thought we had time. I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you,” he wrote in the post, which included photos of O’Hara and himself from a scene in the iconic Christmas movie, as a well as during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2024.
“But I had so much more to say. I love you. I’ll see you later, ” Culkin added.
O’Hara died “following a brief illness,” according to her agency, CAA.
The Emmy-award winning “Schitt’s Creek” star was 71 years old.
Her exact cause of death remains unclear.
“‘Home Alone’ was, is, and always will be a global sensation,” O’Hara said at Culkin’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
“He had a most excellent script and a wonderful director. But it is Macaulay’s perfect performance as Kevin McCallister that gave us that little every boy on an extraordinary adventure,” she continued. “I know you worked really hard. I know you did.
“But you made acting look like the most natural thing in the world to do.”
The actress went on to marvel that Culkin survived superstardom at such a young age and praised his “sweet yet twisted, yet totally relatable sense of humor.”
