The competition for NFL MVP honors is officially down to five.

The league announced on Thursday one of Matthew Stafford, Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence, Drake Maye and Christian McCaffrey will be given the award for 2025’s Most Valuable Player during Super Bowl week next month.

The Rams quarterback threw for 4,707 yards, 46 touchdowns and just eight interceptions. He also completed 65 percent of his passes.

Maye is largely considered the biggest threat to the Los Angeles signal-caller for the accolade, as he logged 4,394 passing yards, 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 72 percent of his attempts.

Both Stafford’s Rams and Maye’s Patriots will play this weekend in their respective conference’s title games for a shot at a spot in Super Bowl LX.

Finalists for other top NFL awards were also announced by the league on Thursday.

Coach of the Year will come down to Liam Coen, Ben Johnson, Mike Macdonald, Kyle Shanahan and Mike Vrabel. Defensive Player of the Year will be between Will Anderson Jr., Nik Bonitto, Myles Garrett, Aiden Hutchinson and Micah Parsons.

Offensive Player of the Year figures to be one of the toughest to determine, with wide receivers Puka Nacua and Jaxson Smith-Njigba named two of the top finalists alongside Maye, McCaffrey and Bijan Robinson.

Nacua piled up 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 129 catches in 16 games while adding 105 rushing yards and one score on 10 carries. Smith-Njigba totaled 119 receptions for 1,793 yards and 10 TDs in his 17 games.

The two will go head-to-head in the NFC Championship Game at Lumen Field on Sunday in Seattle.

All award winners will be revealed during NFL Honors on Feb. 5 in San Francisco.
