PHILADELPHIA — The Rangers “retool” may hinge on Chris Drury’s roster reconstruction, but so much of the team’s direction will depend on captain J.T. Miller, too.
That fact still very much applies in the aftermath of Drury declaring his intentions to rework the Blueshirts on Friday. Leadership will be pivotal for what’s ahead, but so will the example Miller sets for the rest of the team on and off the ice.
“I feel a lot of responsibility right now, and there’s no doubt of that,” Miller told The Post just hours before the team released a statement.
The Rangers responded by storming into Philadelphia Saturday afternoon and cruising to a 6-2 victory over the Flyers.
