Five teenagers have been arrested following the death of a 49-year-old man. Cleveland Police said two men, 18, two 17-year-old boys and a 19-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder. The man was found deceased at an address in Stockton, County Durham, after police were called at 6.50pm on Saturday (January 10).
The force said it is aware that footage relating to the murder was circulating online and has urged people to stop sharing the videos as it could impact legal proceedings. Anyone with information, CCTV or doorbell footage that could assist the investigation has been asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference SE26005815.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Five people have been arrested overnight on suspicion of murder, following an incident in Stockton yesterday evening.
“Officers were called to an address on Egglescliffe Close in Stockton at around 6:50pm on Saturday 10th January, where a 49-year-old man was found deceased.
“A 19-year-old man, two 18-year-old men and two 17-year-old boys have been arrested overnight on suspicion of murder and taken to police custody.
“We are aware of footage relating to this incident circulating around social media sites. Please do not share this footage any further, as this could impact on legal proceedings. You can upload footage anonymously here.
“Anyone with information, CCTV or doorbell footage is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference SE26005815.”
