Trump reveals refurbished White House bathroom but there’s an awkward problem | US | News

President Donald Trump unveiled the renovated Lincoln Bathroom on his Truth Social website, revealing one possible awkward encounter with construction workers building the lavish ballroom on the now-demolishedEast Wing.

The president posted two dozen photos of the renovated bathroom on his Truth Social platform, featuring marble walls and floors, gold accents, and large windows overlooking the White House gardens.

“I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House,” the president wrote. “It was renovated in the 1940s in an Art Deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era. I did it in black and white polished Statuary marble.” It comes after Trump and Melania’s unusual sleeping arrangements were revealed.

“This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln, and in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!” he continued.

But as the president showed off the bizarre renovations in extreme detail, users were quick to notice one comical aspect— one of the windows in the bathroom, which is right next to a toilet, directly faces the construction of the $300 million ballroom.

“What, no curtain? Giving these construction workers a show,” another one posted with a laughing emoji.

Other users, however, did not find it comical, noting how the president is investing in the White House while approximately 40 million Americans will lose access to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.

“Well, thank God for that,” one user commented. “People are about to be starving and without access to healthcare.”

Trump generated controversy earlier this month when he ordered the demolition of the White House’s East Wing, which was built in 1902 and expanded in 1942. In its place, the president has plans to build a new, 90,000-square-foot, $300 million ballroom, funded by private donors, including tech companies such as Apple, Google, and Palantir.

Throughout his second term, the president also hasn’t been shy to redecorate the White House, paving over the Rose Garden to build an exclusive venue to host dinners and political events; embellishing the Oval Office with a plethora of gold accents; and taking down historical portraits to replace them with pictures and paintings of himself during the 2024 presidential campaign.
