Fabio Wardley is set to face Joseph Parker tonight, potentially paving the way for a showdown with Oleksandr Usyk. Wardley turned professional eight years ago after just four white-collar fights but has catapulted his way up the heavyweight rankings. His come-from-behind win over Justis Huni in Ipswich over the summer cemented his position as mandatory challenger to undisputed champion Usyk.

However, Wardley has chosen to risk his position by taking on fellow interim world champion Parker in London tonight. The Kiwi was world champion in 2016 but was dethroned by Anthony Joshua two years later. He has been attempting to secure another world title shot ever since – and will fancy his chances of doing so tonight. Here is everything you need to know about this evening’s fights…

What time does Joseph Parker vs Fabio Wardley start tonight?

Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley will go head-to-head this evening at the O2 Arena in London. The main card is anticipated to commence at approximately 7pm BST.

For the headline encounter, Wardley will probably make his ring walk first at 10pm BST with Parker expected to follow straight afterwards. The two stars will then touch gloves just after 10.20pm BST before the first bell sounds.

The main event time could change depending on how long the undercard fights take to complete.

Quotes corner

Joseph Parker: “You will see on Saturday night. I don’t really want to explain it in words, I want to explain with actions. For me this is all or nothing. I am not thinking about losing this one. I want to win and move onto the next fight. I respect my opponent and what he has done in his career and how he has prepared for this fight, but I am a different level to be honest. I’ll show that on Saturday.”

Fabio Wardley: “Massive night coming up on Saturday, massive for the pair of us on this table and massive for me at this stage of my career. It obviously is the biggest fight of my career and biggest fight of my life. So far so good for me, every time I step up, I rise to the occasion and rise to the challenge. Certainly it will be no different.”
