POLL: Should Nigel Farage get a weekly question at PMQs after protest? Vote here | Politics | News

Nigel Farage is demanding a weekly question at PMQs to allow him to respond to attacks against Reform UK. The Reform leader staged a protest at Wednesday’s session as he sat in a side gallery rather than his usual seat in the House of Commons chamber.

The Clacton MP said: “Every week at PMQs I am attacked by the PM and Labour MPs, but have no right of reply. I am just a mere spectator. So I have decided to spectate from the public gallery today instead.”

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer takes questions from MPs for about half an hour each Wednesday.

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch gets six questions as the Leader of the Opposition, while Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey gets two as the third largest party in Parliament.

Other MPs who want to ask a question can enter a ballot for one of 15 slots, in a random selection sometimes known as “the shuffle”.

But do you think Mr Farage, whose insurgent party is consistently leading national opinion polls, should get a weekly question?

Mr Farage, who is one of five Reform MPs, also complained last week that he heard “yet another” set of exchanges where he was “mentioned but can’t respond”.

He added at the time: “There is not much point me even being there.”

It came after the Prime Minister blasted Reform as “Kremlin cronies sowing division”.

Mr Farage is due to meet Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle this week to discuss the issue.
