UK weather maps show when temperatures could drop to -2C in England as brutal conditions arrive ahead of winter. According to maps from WXCHARTS, aided by Metdesk data, the cold weather will arrive on Monday, October 27.

Lows of -2C are expected in the North Pennines, while much of North Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland can expect temperatures below freezing. Maps also show parts of Manchester seeing temperatures of 0C, as well as Stoke-on-Trent.

Meanwhile, parts of Wales near Brecon will also drop to freezing conditions.

As for the south of England, maps show temperatures ranging from 0C-1C in the Midlands and 3C in Cornwall and Devon.

The Met Office’s weather forecast for October 22 – November 15 predicts unsettled weather across the UK to begin with.

The service said heavy rain and strong winds are forecast to spread from the southwest “as a deep area of low pressure crosses the UK later next week.”

The Met Office added: “This system will likely move away to leave the following weekend showery and cooler. Into the following week, conditions are expected to be changeable with showers or longer spells of rain across many parts of the UK.

Into November, the rain is expected to be most prevalent in the North and North-east while the South enjoys drier conditions.

The forecast states: “The wettest weather will probably be in parts of the North or North-east, with the South-west driest overall. Temperatures are expected to be close to or slightly below normal for the time of year.”

According to WXCHARTS, the coldest counties with temperatures of 0C or below will be:

Durham

North Yorkshire

West Yorkshire

Cumbria

Greater Manchester

Lancashire

Staffordshire

Leicestershire

Northamptonshire
