Meghan Markle has made a confusing statement regarding the upcoming release of the holiday episode of her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex was asked about its release during her interview on stage at the Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit in Washington.
During a chat with Alyson Shontell, Editor-in-Chief and Chief Content Officer of Fortune, Meghan was about the show. She said: “Well, the holiday special is coming out in November. It’s a really good one.”
Meghan appeared to act in a hesitant manner while giving her answer on stage. However, the Archewell Productions press release, previously issued by Netflix stated it would be released in December, prompting questions of whether Meghan was aware of the release date of her own show.
The press release read: “This December, join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration. Together, friends and family deck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts, and share lots of laughs – with simple how-tos to follow at home. It’s a holiday wonder with warmth, tradition, and a generous dose of joy.”
Information surrounding the show was subheaded with the heading: “With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, a new, special holiday episode of With Love, Meghan on Netflix this December.”
So far, Netflix has not confirmed Meghan’s recent announcement about the show being aired in November instead of December, or confirmed an exact date of release. At the moment, there could be a potential clash with Meghan Markle and Princess Kate, as she also has a Christmas scheduling in December.
Princess Kate’s Together at Christmas carol service began in 2021, and is an annual event that will take place once again in December 2025, marking its five-year anniversary.
Meghan then addressed the potential of a third season of her Netflix show during the interview. She said: “So I think looking at that format — again, it’s a year of learns — so we’re able to say, eight episodes for two seasons — it’s a lot of work.
“And having done Suits for seven years, I remember what goes into a production. I also recognise how much people want content in different sizes.”
She continued: “Part of what we’re testing out now is, it’s amazing to sit and watch a show for 30 minutes, but how can I give you a recipe in two minutes? And where can I share that with you? And how that continues to grow As Ever.”
Although it is not known exactly what the festive episode of With Love, Meghan will entail, it is believed to include plenty of craft making activities.
