A body language expert has explained why there is an “emphatic contrast” in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s appearances after the couple conducted solo engagements thousands of miles apart,
Meghan attended a glitzy red-carpet event honouring her friend and filmmaker Tyler Perry in Los Angeles whereas Harry took centre stage at The New York Times Dealbook Summit.
According to body language expert Judi James both have a “very powerful body language narrative”. She told The Mirror: “Both seem to be developing a signature style, and the contrast between the two is emphatic.”
Describing Harry, she continued: “Harry seems to thrive, going back in time to his days as a royal prince when his confidence signals peaked and when he was known for his playful, show-boating style and love of the spotlight. His alpha signals are high on this latest outing and he seems to be a ready communicator, speaking with gestures of attention-seeking authority.”
With Meghan, she says: “While Harry’s confidence signals have increased on sole appearances, hers seem to have decreased, or that is the more vulnerable-looking message she seems to want to send out.”
She continued: “Her sideways pose and the glance over the shoulder at the camera still retain something of the TV star flirty glamour, but she otherwise adopts a more tentative look as though seeking approval rather than expecting it, as Harry does. Her fingers touch together lightly, and her smile comes with a slightly dipped chin that suggests a request to be liked.”
