London has a reputation for being a pricey place to live, but a surprising UK city has just been named the most expensive in the UK to eat a meal.
Lancaster has come top of the list for the most expensive three course meal for two, costing an average of £90 as compared to London’s £85.
The data comes from casino.org who collated and analysed figures from Numbeo to find the cheapest (and most expensive) places in the UK for a three-course meal for two.
The average cost for a three-course meal for two at a mid-range restaurant in the UK is £65. If you want the cheapest meal in the UK, you’ll have to head over to Andover where a meal will set you back just £30.
But when it comes to what proportion of your wages you’ll be shelling out, the London Borough of Lambeth will take the highest cut with 5.8 percent of the average monthly wages going on a meal.
If you’re an hour away in Harrow however, you’ll use just 1.2 percent of your wage.
