This brand new thriller has been hailed as the “best film of the year” and it has now dropped on streaming platofrm Amazon Prime. The popular zombie film has an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
28 Years Later, the sequel to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later was released in cinemas earlier this year. Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Award-nominated writer Alex Garland reunite for 28 Years Later. The film stars Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Edvin Ryding and Erin Kellyman among others.
28 Years Later synopsis reads: “It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway.
“When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.”
With a high rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, one reviewer described 28 Years Later as “one of the best movies of the year”.
The Rotten Tomatoes critics consensus said: “28 Years Later taps into contemporary anxieties with the ferocious urgency of someone infected with Rage Virus, delivering a haunting and visceral thrill ride that defies expectations.”
