An asylum seeker allegedly boasted to his friends after raping a girl in an alleyway, a court has heard. Amin Abedi Mofrad, 35, who is seeking asylum status in the UK, is accused of forcing a 15-year-old girl to the ground before raping her in an alleyway in Oxford.
Oxford Crown Court heard how Mofrad, who denies the allegations, referred to the girl as his “sex doll”. He allegedly sent “triumphant” text messages following the alleged attack to his friends, as well as a picture of him kissing the girl. Prosecutor Patrick Upward KC told the court how the victim had been drunk with a friend in Oxford city centre on the night of the attack last February, before being “cat-called” by two men on a bench.
The victim was “unable to walk straight” and was expecting to be picked up and taken home. However, she walked towards the bench and one of the men got up and approached them, it is alleged.
Mr Upward said: “The defendant, the prosecution says, was the older man. He was at that time 34 and was nearly 20 years older than the girls.
“As the girls walked towards the bench, he got up and approached them, saying: ‘Hi, how are you? What are you doing?’
“The men went on to make admiring comments about how nice the girls looked. Initially, the girls thought they were just being nice, possibly even flattering. There is no doubt the amount of alcohol influenced their initial reactions.”
However, the migrant then allegedly tried to grab the 15-year-old’s bottom and put his hands down her trousers. She tried to stop him, but the reported attack continued, it is claimed.
Mr Upward explained: “The next thing the defendant started to do was run his hands over her breasts and bottom.
“This is not what she expected, and she made this clear. He pulled on her jeans and her top.”
The victim claims she “struggled” before “making it plain, verbally, she did not want it to happen”. However, Mofrad then allegedly forced her to the ground next to the bench and said: “I want to f*** you… I want you to be our sex doll,” it is claimed.
It is alleged that the asylum seeker then led the girl down an alleyway before raping her. The teenagers fled the scene before reporting the alleged incident to police a few months later.
Mofrad was then arrested in September before being detained again in February this year. He denies the allegations and told police he had “never raped anyone”.
During their investigation, it is reported that police found two contacts saved in his phone, one of which had a misspelling of the alleged victim’s name. Mofrad also reportedly sent a text hours after the rape, which read: “I have never f****d a p***y like that.”
He denies rape and sexual assault. The trial continues.
