MS George Eliot will be the first ever dedicated solo traveller cruise ship. The ship will offer new 15-day itineraries, making it the longest solo river cruise ever.
It can hold up to 132 passengers, and comes after demands for solo travel hit record heights. The vessel from Riviera Travel will pride itself on its luxury, with 70 staterooms and suites, including superior and deluxe cabins as well.
A five-star hotel ambience will be present throughout, with Italian fabrics and hardwood floors.
When it comes to dining, there are plentiful options, such as a main restaurant with open seating, buffet choices and a four-course dinner.
Along with this restaurant, there will also be a bistro and a panorama lounge bar with views of the river scenery as you dine.
As well as these fine dining options, there is also a wellness area with massage and salon services, along with a sun deck with loungers and a pool.
The ship even has a putting green, for guests who are keen golfers.
Live music will be present on all cruises too, creating the perfect space to both listen to some tunes and also meet like-minded travellers.
There are a range of routes, including The Blue Danube for Solo Travellers, which visits Vienna, Budapest & Salzburg, starting at £2,899pp.
Riviera Travel is offering free upgrades from middle to upper deck for 2027 if you book before Halloween this year.
Phil Hullah, CEO of Riviera Travel, says: “This is a landmark moment not only for Riviera but for the river cruise industry as a whole.
“The launch of MS George Eliot, the first river cruise ship to operate exclusively for solo guests, allows us to offer independent travellers a choice and focus that no other operator provides”.
Searches for ‘solo travel tips’ increased by a staggering 5,043% over the past year according to confused.com, and this cruise is the perfect way to get into solo travel.
The first guests will be able to board the ship from June 2027.
