Trump-loving English landlord renames pub after President for state visit | Politics | News

An America-loving London pub has rebranded itself for the US State Visit, with signs going up to commemorate the historic second visit by Donald Trump. The Biddy Mulligan’s pub, near West London’s Kensington Olympia, has put up new branding to call itself “The Trump Arms” in honour of Mr Trump’s state visit.

While the pub did the same for his last state visit, Landlord Damien Smith has also put up a new permanent display commemorating the life of Charlie Kirk. To honour the legacy of the assassinated MAGA influencer, Mr Smith has set up a new “Charlie Kirk Debate Room”, offering guests the opportunity to celebrate his life. Unlike the “Trump Arms” rebrand, the room will remain up in perpetuity after the President’s visit.

The Trump-loving landlord said: “Millions of people around the world have been left horrified that a decent family man like Charlie could be slaughtered during a peaceful, and open public debate.

“We owe it to his wife and children to send a clear message that we stand against the rise of left-wing extremism and violence.

“Likewise, President Trump has been democratically elected not once, but twice, and deserves respect for all his achievements in making America great again.”

Local pub regular Patrick Sullivan added: “President Trump has cracked down on crime, curbed illegal immigration and reversed America’s decline.

“The British look across the pond with envy at such strong leadership, which is why a political tidal wave in now inevitable.”

In 2018 when the pub’s love for the President first hit the headlines, Mr Trump said the rebrand was “wonderful”.

He added: “I love those people. Those are my people.”

His state visit is taking place away from London this time, mostly at Windsor Castle, though he touched down in the capital last night and stayed at the Regent Park home of his UK ambassador.

Mr Trump was greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales before being formally introduced to the King and Queen.

The whole of the state visit is being conducted inside the grounds of the Windsor estate owing to security fears.

Police presence in Windsor is extremely strong, with a 7-foot fence being erected around the Castle.

Highlights of his state visit include a carriage ride through the Windsor estate, a ceremonial welcome and a white-tie banquet with some 160 guests.
