Morrisons is giving customers who work in 30 different professions a 10% discount in its stores. The supermarket chain allows workers with a Blue Light Card to slash 10% off the cost of food and drinks in its cafes when the card is shown at the till. A Blue Light Card is the UK’s leading discount service for people who have jobs in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector, teaching community and the armed forces, and it is accepted in Morrisons stores.

Unfortunately the discount cannot be used for general grocery shopping at the supermarket or for online orders, as Morrisons will only accept the card in its cafes and Brew coffee shops.

Workers who have a Blue Light Card simply need to present it at the till in any of Morrisons’ 344 cafes across the UK to claim 10% off food and drinks.

Morrisons said: “Enjoy 10% off at Morrisons Cafe with your Blue Light Card. You can now use your Blue Light Card in our Morrisons Cafe and Brew coffee shops for 10% off your order. Find your local cafe.”

The card cannot be used in conjunction with any other membership scheme or discount card, excluding a Morrisons More Card.

Workers with jobs in the following professions are all eligible to get a Blue Light Card which can then be used to claim the 10% discount in Morrisons Cafes:

  • 4×4 Response
  • Ambulance Service including retired
  • Blood Bikes
  • British Army
  • Cave Rescue
  • Community First Responders
  • Dental Practice
  • Fire Service including retired
  • Highways England Traffic Officer
  • Home Office
  • HM Armed Forces Veterans
  • HM Coastguard
  • HM Prison & Probation Services
  • Lowland Search and Rescue
  • MoD Civil Servants
  • MoD Fire Service

  • Police including retired
  • Red Cross
  • Reserve Armed Forces
  • RNLI
  • Royal Air Force
  • Royal Marines
  • Royal Navy
  • Search and Rescue

If you work in one of these fields and don’t have a Blue Light Card it costs just £4.99 for two year’s access and you can sign up online.
