The Presidential couple will be hosted at Windsor Castle by King Charles and Queen Camilla, with the two couples believed to get on very well.
This is set to be exciting for Charles, who has been pen pals with Melania for a number of years.
This was revealed by the First Lady herself in her memoir Melania, where she wrote that she had an “ongoing correspondence with King Charles III”, with the pair having first met in 2005.
She said that her and her husband “exchange letters with King Charles to this day”, especially after they were reunited in 2019 during Donald Trump’s first state visit to the UK during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.
While the First Lady will no doubt be excited to reunite with the King, she is also likely to feel some excitement about carrying out an engagement with The Princess of Wales.
On their final day in the UK next week on September 18, Melania will accompany Kate to meet with Chief Scout Dwayne Fields, and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels programme.
After this engagement, Melania will then travel to Chequers to reunite with Donald Trump as the state visit comes to an end.
As reported by the Mail, a source has said: “The President and First Lady are thrilled that the Princess of Wales will play such a prominent role in their visit. The inclusion of Princess Kate in so many events during the state visit is an honour.”
