Weather conditions in the UK are forecast to do a complete U-turn as weather maps show that a mini-heatwave is on the cards for England this month.

Maps generated by WXCharts using metdesk data show parts of the country highlighted in orange, indicating the balmy temperatures expected to touch regions on September 25. Brits should expect the hot weather to cover certain parts of the country for the entire day, with temperatures reaching as high as 25C in areas.

The east and southeast, including Suffolk, Norfolk, and Greater London, will experience the warmest conditions, with temperatures ranging between 22C and 25C.

While temperatures will be slightly lower as you move further south, forecasted to be around 20C and 21C, the general trend of the map shows that temperatures fall as a whole as you move westwards.

Those in the north can also expect slightly cooler temperatures, ranging in the mid to high-10s. Cumbria and North Yorkshire will welcome the lowest of the range, with temperatures at 14C in some areas.

For most of the country, the warm weather will be accompanied by dry conditions. However, parts of the West Midlands, like Worcester, Birmingham, and Stoke, and Greater Manchester, will see rainfall in the early afternoon. The Met Office also suggests patches of rain to cross with dry, settled weather.

The weather agency’s long rang forecast for Wednesday, September 17 to Friday, September 26, it states: “There may be a trend toward more in the way of settled and drier interludes interspersed with further periods of rain and showers.

“These look more likely across southern areas of the UK, but may extend to other parts at times. Temperatures will likely be close to average or slightly below overall, but if we start to see more in the way of dry weather later in the period, temperatures could recover back to a little above average at times.”

Full List of England’s Hottest Counties on September 25:

  1. Bedfordshire
  2. Cambridgeshire
  3. Essex
  4. Greater London
  5. Hertfordshire
  6. Norfolk
  7. Suffolk
