Everything inside the Rituals beauty Advent calendar

It might only be September, but Christmas is already on our mind, especially with the launch of so many beauty advent calendars (including the LookFantastic calendar that’s already been a massive hit online). But if you’re a lover of scented bath products and body moisturisers, the Rituals Wreath could be the festive treat for you. The brand is known for its pampering bathtime essentials, in particular its richly scented shower gels and moisturising lotions, but that’s not all you’ll find hidden behind the 24 doors of this Advent calendar.

One thing that caught our eye and made this calendar stand out from the rest is that it contains some unusual additional products, including a fabric softener and scent booster, so that your clothes and linens can smell just as good as you.

You’ll also find a few scented Advent candles, with fragrances such as hibiscus and cashmere rose, that can help to transform bathtime into a spa-like experience.

The Rituals Wreath Advent calendar retails for £103, but according to the brand, the contents are worth £163.60, which is a saving of roughly 37%. Rituals doesn’t specify how many of these products are full-size, though there is nothing over 100ml.

Like the name suggests, the calendar is shaped like a traditional Advent wreath in festive hues of green and red. It’s complete with a red ribbon so that you can hang it up on display during the countdown to Christmas. Or, if you prefer to stand it on a shelf or countertop, there’s a cardboard stand that pops out from the rear.

As you make your way around the wreath, opening each door, you’ll uncover Rituals products, including its Velvety Foaming Shower Gel, Shimmering body oil, and micellar water, which you can use to cleanse your face at the end of each day.

Shower and bath products range from gels and body washes to shower oils, and there is also a selection of hair care, including a shampoo and conditioner.

The Rituals range includes a good variety of scented products, including the best-selling Sakura (inspired by Japanese cherry blossoms) and Intuitia (with notes of sandalwood and vanilla).

You’ll also find a scrub glove for exfoliating and a spoon to help decant products.

As someone who isn’t particularly keen on a chocolate Advent calendar (I always end up giving up halfway through and have chocolates left well into January), a beauty calendar is a great alternative.

The Rituals calendar is particularly good for people who prioritise self-care, but might not necessarily be into makeup.

It’s a shame no larger items are included in the calendar, but it’s great if you want to try a range of products from the brand. Plus, with all items under 100ml, they’re the perfect size for travel, or you could even divide the contents up as stocking fillers for family and friends.

The calendar currently doesn’t have any reviews, though it’s cheaper than some rival calendars, including L’Occitane, which similarly contains 24 skincare and bathtime products but retails for £149 (you can read our full review here).
