Erling Haaland scored five goals for Norway as they thrashed Moldova 11-1 on Tuesday night. The Manchester City striker has already hit three goals in as many Premier League matches this season.

He also scored in both of Norway’s matches during this international break and head into Sunday’s Manchester derby against Manchester United in top form.

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odeegard also netted for Norway, before Rangers ace Thelo Aasgaard bagged four strikes including a hat-trick within 11 minutes after coming off the bench.

Rangers supporters have yet to witness the finest moments from the expensive Russell Martin summer signing since his arrival.

The midfielder suffered a fitness setback shortly after his switch to Scotland and has been gradually returning to peak condition.

Across his opening five outings for Rangers, he has failed to register any goals or assists.

However, his spectacular cameo performance will leave Gers faithful excited about his potential contribution upon his return to Ibrox.

Brought on in the 64th minute, he found the net within four minutes before doubling his tally eight minutes afterwards.

The Norwegian was then presented with a spot-kick opportunity and confidently converted to complete his treble.

There was still time for a fourth strike on an evening he will treasure for years to come.

Superstar Erling Haaland had already fired home four times before the Rangers midfielder entered the fray and added his fifth in the closing stages.

Posting on social media, one Rangers supporter commented: “A Thelo Aasgaard hat-trick and a Derek Cornelius screamer. We are back.”

Another fan remarked: “Thelo Aasgaard hat-trick. There is a quality player in him to kick-start his Rangers career. Hopefully it starts this weekend against Hearts when he comes back to the club on a high.”

A subsequent post read: “Hat-trick for Thelo Aasgaard after being on the pitch for 15 mins and belter of a free-kick from Cornelius. Good night for Rangers players on international duty.”

Rangers also chimed in from their official account, stating: “Thelo Aasgaard scores 4 off the bench for Norway tonight in their 11-1 win over Moldova. Well done, Thelo.”

His four-goal tally marks a successful international break for Rangers players, with Derek Cornelius netting a stunner of a free-kick against Wales while Nico Raskin also found the back of the net for Belgium.
